Hi, I see that the new generation Mazdas (such as the CX5 which have MZD) come with Sat Nav functionality preloaded at the factory. In order to activate the Sat Nav, one needs to purchase an SD card from the dealer (costs about R5,000!). Nov 01, 2015  basically mazda and the dealers are letting people DIY on maps so that they dont have to deal with it. Also it allows people do update on their own schedule. The question is whether there is some special metatag/boot sector/content protection on the 'dealer' provided sd card and the car wont recognize any generic sd card.

If swapped, the SD card that is installed into the other vehicle becomes “linked” to the VIN of that vehicle. Dec 01, 2015  In your vehicle, remove the SD card that stores the map files. Go to mazda.com.au, select owners in the top menu, scroll down and select MZD connect. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select navigation, select update my maps. Download the Mazda toolbox application, and install. Open Mazda toolbox, insert the SD card into the SDHC card. The map information version can be upgraded. If you require the latest SD card of Navigation Map data, consult an Expert Dealer, we recommend an Authorized Mazda Dealer. With the ignition switched to ACC OFF, insert a finger into the depression above the lid housing SD card of Navigation Map data (next to the navigation display), and open it.

Map updates are released twice a year, once in the months between March to May and September to November.

How To Update Your Mazda Maps

This will show you how to update the maps of the MZD connect system.

To complete this update you will need, the SD card from your Mazda, a computer, and an SDHC compatible card reader.

Lil purpp audi download. In your vehicle, remove the SD card that stores the map files. Go to mazda.com.au, select owners in the top menu, scroll down and select MZD connect.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select navigation, select update my maps. Download the Mazda toolbox application, and install.

Open Mazda toolbox, insert the SD card into the SDHC card reader.

Register your details in your Mazda toolbox. Once successful, you’ll receive an email to confirm your registration.

2016 Mazda 3 Navigation Chip

Returned back to your Mazda toolbox and click on available updates, then select Install. Enter a name to backup your data. Mazda toolbox will then download and update the maps on the SD card.

When your SD card has been successfully updated, please insert your SD card back into your vehicle to enjoy Mazda’s latest map updates.
